An Overview
Fitbit believe that fitness doesn’t stop at the gym, the running track or the bike shed. Indeed, Fitbit tracks every single part of your day and night – from your daily walkabout activity to your exercise routines, and from the food you eat and fluid you drink to how well you sleep. With Fitbit trackers, every step you take is monitored, and with the Fitbit app you can see your progress – from those first small steps to goal smashing glory.A Little (Fit)bit Of History
Headquartered in San Francisco, Fitbit was founded and is still managed by James Park and Eric Friedman in October 2007. Fitbit were the very first on the scene to invent a wireless fitness tracker. The Fitbit Tracker was lauded by the tech world upon its release for its wearability, price, and lack of subscription fees, and the company now enjoy over 50% market share of fitness trackers globally.
Fitbit created the benchmark from which all other fitness trackers have since followed suit. Even now, nearly 8 years on, Fitbit are still setting the standard with the lightest and thinnest heart rate and GPS device on the shelf. And the company say that they’re “still just getting started.â€
What Fitbit Trackers Do
The beauty of Fitbit products is that there is something to suit everyone. Fitbit know and appreciate that everyone’s approach to fitness is different, and that’s why there’s a whole family of products to suit your budget, your goals, and even your favourite apps.
Fitbit trackers measure steps taken throughout the day, distance covered, calories burned, floors climbed, active minutes and sleep patterns. Combined with the Fitbit app, these trackers can also set you goals and targets, record your progress, reward you with achievement badges, and allow you to share your fitness journey socially with the Fitbit community, or even on your favourite social media sites.
Fitbit App
The Fitbit App is available on more than 120 different mobile phones, including ios and Android. It has an extensive list of features so you can build up the complete picture of not just your fitness, but your overall health, wellness and sleep activity too.
It tracks and logs all of your activities throughout the day, sets step, weight and activity goals, and all of this as it syncs completely wirelessly with your Fitbit tracker and even the Aria Smart Scale.
With additional features like MobileRun, Food Log and MobileTrack, there is no stone left unturned when it comes to recording your health data, and that overview is what Fitbit believe to be the driving factor for personal success.
